With more than 200,000 Indian students currently living and studying in Canada, India gracefully became Canada’s leading source of overseas students. If you have enough spark and keenness, you can join them for the coming session.
Because Canada is not only an affordable option in terms of cost of living and tuition fees, but it is also known for its highest standard of education, highly multicultural society and supportive immigration policies.
To study in Canada from India as an International student, you may follow a stepwise process mentioned below:
Step 1: Choose a Canadian designated learning institution (DLIs) and a study program of your interest. DLIs are those Canadian universities, colleges, language schools, etc., authorized by the government to admit overseas students. Step 2: Apply for admission at an eligible DLI and obtain a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) based on your English language proficiency, transcripts, the reason for choosing a program, and professional and educational background.
Step 3: Upon obtaining an LOA, you can apply for a study permit as an Indian national by submitting a study permit application along with required Canada student visa documents and fees to the federal government.
Among key documents, an LOA, proof of funds, a medical examination certificate and a police certificate are of utmost importance.
Step 4- Obtain a study permit, which will grant you legal status to study in Canada as an international student. As a full-time post-secondary student with a valid study permit, you can work on and off-campus during your studies without any work permit in hand.
