If you are a Canada immigration aspirant applying in Express Entry system, you must have understood by now that you need a good point score as per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to secure the ITA (invitation to apply) for Canadian PR visa.
However, the truth is, many candidates apply in express entry every year, however couldn’t succeed in obtaining ITA for PR in Canada. In each express entry draw, IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) set quite high qualifying marks or CRS Score requirement for issuing the ITA. Let’s understand the point’s mechanism in Express Entry system to know how you succeed to pass through it.
Your selection in the express entry system is based on the following key criteria:
Express Entry allocates points to your profile based on all the above selection factors. If you are able to score heavily based all the above factors, your chances of securing the Canadian PR invitation will increase tremendously. There are few additional factors as well, which we will discuss later in this article.
This year, qualifying marks have remained around 480 mark most of the time. Hence the candidates with CRS Score between 380- 450 points, stand no chance with such high CRS score requirement from IRCC.
So what are the options left with you as an express entry applicant with low CRS score?
Well, all is not lost even if you have a low CRS score. There are options through which you can raise your CRS score beyond 600 points and hence, secure the PR invitation from IRCC.
First option you can use is to find the job in Canada, you may use your contacts, and explore the key job websites, recruitment agencies, and local newspapers, etc. in Canada to get an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) approved job offer from a Canadian employer. If you are able to get a job offer in Canada, it will allocate you 600 additional CRS points. The additional CRS points will make your profile eligible to get the ITA from IRCC.
The second option you have is to get the nomination from a province in Canada. Apply in express entry stream of any of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and get the nomination for it. On receipt of the provincial nomination, you will get additional 600 CRS points, which in turn will make you eligible to receive the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for PR visa from IRCC.
