Did not receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply) this year despite having a decent CRS Point Score?
Well, it is not your case only, as there are several Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category Express Entry candidates waiting for their ITA this year. The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has only conducted the program-specific draws this year. As a result the candidates with CRS score ranging between 450 and 500 are still not sure when will they get the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) from IRCC.
As per the Express Entry pool status on April 12, 2021 the number of candidates in the pool with the CRS score ranging between 451-500 is nearly 30,040. Hence, considering this huge number, it is likely that the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will not delay the all-program draw for long and invite the candidates under Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category as well.
Having said the same, what will happen in the next draw, only IRCC can know. However, what will be the CRS score requirement; can be a point of discussion.
If you do not want to play a waiting game, you can aggressively try to obtain a Canadian Permanent Residency (PR), by applying to a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Most Canadian provinces has a PNP, through which they can invite, assess and nominate the foreign skilled workers for Canadian PR visa.
The Express Entry aligned stream of a PNP can help you obtain the provincial nomination and subsequently the 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points in your Express Entry account. This huge surge of points enables you to get Canadian PR invitation from Canadian government or IRCC. Some popular Canadian PNPs are, OINP, SINP, AINP, MPNP, PEI PNP, etc. Every PNP has a different process and requirements however, if you are applying to an EE aligned stream, you need to have profile registered in Express Entry.
To assess your profile apply in the most relevant PNP accordingly, you may contact Visas Avenue- the leading and trusted Immigration Advisory Service for Canada immigration. You may call VA Canada immigration expert on Toll-Free No. 78-18-000-777 or you can drop us an e-mail at email@example.com.

Presently, Canada is indeed the most chosen destination by skilled foreign workers around the globe, owing to its friendly immigration policies and swift immigration pathway like Express Entry and PNP. There has been a steady growth in the overall number of skilled immigrants in Canada, who majorly hail from countries like India, China, Vietnam, etc.
As mentioned, the most popular and fastest pathway to permanent residency in Canada is through Express Entry system that follow a transparent point-based selection criteria. However, obtaining a low CRS score under Express Entry sometimes lead to unwanted delays and even rejection for applicants. At this point, it is imperative for you to choose alternative options to boost your overall CRS score or to choose another eligible program.
Canada’s immigration system is unique with more than 80 immigration programs shared between Federal and provincial governments. As an Express Entry applicant, you have to qualify under any one of the three economic immigration programs, including:
Also, Canadian provinces too have a permission to setup their ‘Express Entry’ aligned PNP streams, which allows them to select and nominate eligible applicants from the EE pool who are suitable as per specific provincial requirements.
You may apply under those PNP streams and if you successfully get a provincial nomination, you’ll be awarded with additional 600 points towards your overall CRS score, which virtually guarantees you an ITA for Canada PR in the upcoming EE draw.
All three economic immigration programs mentioned above are managed by Express Entry and select those applicants who have proficiency in English or French language, relevant skilled work experience and educational qualification equal to Canadian standards. With a higher proficiency in both or any one of the two official languages of Canada, like CLB 9 or CLB 10, you will get higher points for language skills.
There are other immigration programs offered in Canada like Atlantic Immigration Pilot program (AIPP) and Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. All these are designed to meet the economy needs of specific regions or sectors in Canada. An a recent graduate from a public institution in any one of the four Atlantic provinces in Canada and a prior job offer in hand from an employer, you may qualify for Canadian permanent residence even without any work experience.

Hope you would have figured out the different between 67-points threshold for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score for ITA (invitation to apply).
Well, if you have not interpreted the difference between the two, it is the first thing you must do now, as a Canada PR applicant through federal express entry system.
Express Entry System 67 Points Threshold
First of all, as an applicant, you must understand that Express Entry System is not a Permanent Residence Program, it is just an online point based system through which you can register your profile an receive ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR). Once you create your profile as a foreign skilled worker, you must be eligible for any of the three key programs of federal express entry system, i.e.
If a candidate scores 67 points based on his/her age, education, work experience, language skills, etc. and meets criteria of any of the above programs, he/she becomes eligible to get selected in federal express entry pool of candidates. The candidate registered in express entry pool also get a definite score based on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) called CRS score. Candidates get selected for ITA (Invitation to Apply) from the express entry pool based on their CRS score.
ITA for Canada PR based on CRS Score
As already confirmed, every candidate who finds the place in express entry pool is given a definite CRS score based on his/her work experience, age, language ability, qualification, etc. factors. The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) launches a draw called Express Entry Draw, every fortnight and announce a cut-off score for the draw as well.
The applicants achieving the cut off marks (CRS score requirement) receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) from IRCC. The CRS score requirement from IRCC in the latest express entry draw launched on May 17, 2017 was 415 points or more.
Hence, obtaining 67 points makes you eligible to submit profile in Express Entry system under any of three economic immigration programs of Canada, while CRS score makes you eligible to receive ITA for Canada PR from IRCC via any of its periodic draws.
