There are total 13 provinces and territories, out of which, 11 provinces run their own Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These immigration programs allow provinces select those foreign nationals who are capable of fulfilling specific provincial needs.

To help you make a decision, we came up with top Canadian Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) Streams you may choose to apply for provincial nomination for Canada permanent residency.

  1. AINP- Alberta Express Entry Stream

Managed under Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, this stream works in association with federal Express Entry system and select applicants from the EE poolto apply for provincial nomination. The key advantage of this stream is it’s CRS score of as low as 300, which ensures that more candidates from the pool get a chance to receive a Notification of Interest from Alberta.

  1. SINP- International Skilled Worker (ISW)

This category is managed under Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program and is designed to bring skilled workers who are capable of filling labour market gaps in province’s workforce.

Under ISW, there are two streams that are ideal for applicants living outside of Canada, including,

  • Saskatchewan Express Entry stream- Candidates require an active Express Entry profile
  • Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand stream- Candidates doesn’t require an Express Entry profile

To qualify, candidates must have a minimum of one year of work experience in an occupation listed under Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupations List.

  1. OINP- Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream

Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream is an ideal option for those who are living outside of Canada and desire to live and work permanently in Ontario. To qualify under HCP, candidates must meet the requirements of one of these federal immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  1. MPNP- Manitoba Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

For those who have a connection to Manitoba, like a relative or friend living in Manitoba as a PR holder or citizen, have work experience in Manitoba or have completed studies in Manitoba, etc. this stream is a suitable option. To qualify, candidates must have at least one year of work experience in one of the In-Demand Occupation List of Manitoba.

If you are also willing to move to any specific Canadian province, then PNPs would make an ideal option as with a provincial nomination you get 600 additional points, which virtually guarantees you an ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian permanent residency by the IRCC.

by By Rajneesh Kumar

Is this the right time to apply in PNP with Express Entry cut off beyond 450 mark

Are you concerned about high CRS requirement from IRCC in last few draws? Well, your concern is justified, if you have CRS score below 450 marks. In last few draws of Federal Express Entry system, the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has announced the cut off well above 460 marks in last few EE draws.

Express Entry Draw Trend

This year, Express Entry draws have shown a mixed trend in terms of CRS Score requirement. It dipped to the lowest of the year, i.e. 438 points in the start of the year and reached the highest mark (i.e. 470 points) of the year just a few draws back.

CRS score requirement in Last 3 Express Entry Draws

Although it has been decreasing consistently from last two draws, however, expecting it to drop drastically in next few draws seems unlikely, especially, when there are enough candidates with high CRS Score in the Express entry pool. As per Express Entry pool status as of June 21, 2019, there are 6,265 candidates in the EE pool with CRS score 451 and above. Hence, if your CR score is below 450 marks, you may have to wait for the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for some more time.

Is this the right time to apply in a PNP?

Considering the Express Entry pool status and the current trend of Express Entry draws, is it wise to apply for a Provincial Nominee Programs and obtain a nomination to enhance your point’s score as well as the chances of obtaining the Canada PR invitation from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada).

There are two types of stream most of the PNPs have for the overseas skilled workers to apply, i.e.

  • Express Entry aligned stream
  • Non-Express entry stream

You may choose to apply for any of the stream based on your profile and preference. The express entry aligned stream needs an applicant to have an account on the Federal Express Entry System under any of the three categories, i.e.

  • Federal Skilled Worker
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class

Also, there are few PNP stream wherein you can apply without registering a profile in the Federal Express Entry profile. Hence, you must choose the stream after knowing all the key updates about the same. Some of the most popular PNPs to apply provincial nomination for Canada PR are,

  • Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program,
  • Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
  • Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
  • Nova Scotia Nominee Program
