  • Points for the Job Offer

The CRS points for the job offer will be allocated differently as per the new points arrangement announced by the Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). As per the earlier points arrangement, the CRS points for job offer as well as provincial nomination used to be 600, however, now with the key Canada immigration rule changes on November 19, 2016, the points for the job offer will be allocated from 50 or 200 only, based on the National Occupational Classification (NOC) job category, i.e. 0, A, B, etc.

Points will also be allocated to a few candidates without LMIA job offer, i.e. immigrants in Canada on a NAFTA work permit or individuals who are in Canada as Intra-Company transferee.

  • Time for submitting Visa application

The time for submitting visa application is extended to 90 days from 60 days. This in fact is a key relaxation offered by IRCC in terms of providing more time to candidates for gathering document and submitting visa application.

  • Important announcements with regard to Family reunification Process

Some key process change announcement has been made by the government with regards to the family reunification process. One of such key process related changes was reduction in the application processing time for Family Reunification.

  • Points to International Students in Canada

The government has time and again showed intent to make the pathway easy for the international students to get PR in Canada. As per the Canada immigration Rule changes in November this year, government will now allocate express entry points to the International students in Canada for the Canadian education credentials.

  • PGP process changed

The process for Parents and Grandparent Program (PGP) has also been changed by the IRCC as per the recent announcement made in this regard. The sponsors of PGP will now get 30 days for submitting the online form to show interest in the program starting January 3, 2017.
