The year 2017 so far has been exceptional for Canada Immigration in terms, buzz, happenings, events, news and updates, etc. As the first quarter of the year now over, its time to analyze the performance of the popular Canadian immigration program, i.e. federal Express Entry Immigration System. Lets take a look as to how the Express Entry system went about its business selecting and inviting skilled workers for Canadian permanent residency. First Quarter Review of Express Entry System-2017 The first quarter of the year was incredible for Express Entry system and Canadian immigration. In first quarter of this year, various records were broken and many new got created vide every Express entry draw. Lets take a look. January 2017 There were 3 Express Entry Draws in the month of January. The year started on a good note, as the very first draw of the year launched on January 4th, 2017 invited record 2,902 candidates for Canadian PR, despite the fact that qualifying marks were not that low (468 points or more).

The second draw of the of the month and year, again created a new record for the number of invitations issued, as it first time invited more than three thousands candidates, i.e. 3,334 for Canadian PR. Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continued to surprise the applicants in the 3rd draw of the month as they invited staggering 3508 candidates to apply for the permanent residency visa in Canada. So, the month of January was incredible for the applicants as just under ten thousand candidates got the ITA (invitation to apply) from IRCC. February, 2017 There only two express entry draws occurred in the month of February 2017. The first draw of the month launched on February 8, 2017, yet again created a new record by inviting massive 3664 express entry applicants to apply for PR in Canada. The exceptional thing about the draw was the qualifying marks, which first time went below 450 marks. In the very next draw, the CRS Score requirement or qualifying marks yet again dropped to new low, i.e. 441 points and hence, invited 3611 candidates.   Express Entry Draws in First Quarter of 2017 March, 2017The month of March also saw just two draws. However in the very first draw records created for both highest number of invitations (3,884) as well as for the lowest every qualifying marks (i.e. 434 points) announced by the IRCC. The second draw was launched after a long wait, i.e. after 23 days and invited 3,749 candidates as the qualifying marks declared by IRCC were 441 points or more.

  What was exceptional about First quarter of 2017?Well, as already discussed the exceptional thing was so many time IRCC created new records in terms of inviting applicants and reduction in the qualifying marks. Overall, IRCC was quite lenient towards the applicants in the first quarter of the year.
