The Australian Department of Immigration and border Protection has released the Occupation Ceiling list for the programme year 2015-16. The occupation ceiling is applicable to the invitations being issued under the point based immigration system of Australia for selection of skilled migrants in the country. It has been introduced first with an intention to stop the dominance of just a few occupations in the whole immigration programme.

Which immigrants are exempted from Occupation ceiling?

However, this occupation ceiling is not applicable to the candidates:

  • Sponsored by an Australian employer.
