Australia ranks top on the list of immigration aspirants today. If you are an immigration aspirant, you have enough reasons to move to Australia, i.e. plenty of job opportunities, world-class education system with top universities, low crime rate, multicultural society, high wages, world-class cities, incredible infrastructure and high human development index, etc. However, how to move to Australia is a key question for every Australian immigration aspirant. Hence, let’s discuss the process of Australia Immigration.
Well, the immigration process stars with the arrangement of essential documents. Australia has a point-based system that allocates point for every characteristic of a candidate, i.e. Age, education, skills, experience, and English Language ability, etc. While you must be having proofs for all the other characteristics of your profile, you would require two key documents, i.e. English Language proficiency test score, i.e. IELTS and the Skill Assessment Report after verification of your skills by a relevant authority. When all the key documents are obtained, you may choose an occupation from relevant Skilled Occupation List (SOL) of Australia and submit EOI in the online SkillSelect system of Australia to get selected for the visa.
(Note: With effect from April 19, 2017, Australian Government has replaced the old Occupation lists, i.e. SOL & CSOL with new Skilled Occupation lists, i.e. Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) & Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
The visa applicants, eligible to nominate an occupation from STSOL, also have access to some occupations in MLTSSL. Hence, both the lists (STSOL & MLTSSL) have been combined to form a new Combined List of Eligible Skilled Occupations and hence, there is no separate STSOL list.)
The Australia immigration processing time depends upon the visa category you choose to apply. It varies from three months to one year or more depending upon your application. However, the standard visa processing time for different visa categories is given below:
However, the visa processing time depends a lot on the individual application accuracy and verification process and hence, may vary based upon the same.
Submission of EOI (Expression of Interest) is a crucial part of Australia immigration process. To apply for immigration to Australia, you need to submit an EOI in the SkillSelect online system of Australia mentioning all the key details of your profile. Australian employers and states have the access to your profile on SkillSelect. If your profile is selected by any employer or state for nomination, you will get intimation about the same and subsequently, an invitation to apply for visa.
An Expression of Interest (EOI) is a method of expressing or showing your interest in a particularly skilled visa in order to move to Australia. It is basically an online form available on the SkillSelect online system of Australia. You require entering various details about your profile in this form, i.e. age, work experience, skill, etc. It is used to determine your eligibility for a particular skill visa and is visible to the different employers and states of Australia.
An invitation is issued to you based on your EOI submitted in SkillSelect system. An invitation is a permission granted to you to apply for the Australian skilled visa you have applied. Invitation rounds refer to the periodic selection of EOIs based on their achieved point score. During the 2016-17 as many as 4450 invitations issued for subclass 189 Visa, while 300 invitations issued for subclass 489 Visa, making total number of invitations for 2016-17 as 4750.
