Express Entry system has become the most popular immigration system in the world in no time. When it was first launched in January 2015, even the government of Canada was not sure about its success and popularity. Express Entry is launched on January 2015 as a premier economic immigration program of Canada. It accepts and process the applications received for Canadian permanent residency under three main streams, i.e.
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) – For Candidates with skilled experience in NOC Skill Type – 0, A, B.
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) – For candidates with skilled trade experience.
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – For the individuals which are already in Canada on temporary status.
Express Entry System is a point based online immigration system based on Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). As per CRS, an applicant who suits the profile (Expression of interest) in the express entry system, will be given points (called CRS Score) based on his/her qualification, age, work experience, language ability, etc. details.

Prior to the launch of express entry system the Canadian immigration process was facing two key problems, i.e. need of organized economic immigration program and rising concerns over very long processing time of visa applications.
The Express Entry system launched to combat both these issues in the immigration process. The government launched express entry system with an objective to meet the labour market needs and requirements of Canada and speed up the application process. It is said that with new express entry system, the immigration applications of the candidates will get processed within six months time. And needless to mention that the express entry system is able to achieve all its goals and objectives with which it was introduced.

The most goals achieved by express entry in the first year only. Most of the candidates, i.e. almost 80 percent of the candidates registered under three streams of express entry got the final decision in less than 6 months.
