Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457)

This is the temporary employer sponsored visa that allows you to live and work in Australia for up to 4 years.

  • You are allowed to bring your family to work or study in Australia
  • You may travel in and out of Australia frequently.

Employer’s nomination scheme (Subclass186)

This is the permanent visa that allows you to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis, through sponsorship from the employer in Australia.

  • You can live and work in Australia permanently
  • study in Australia
  • You can get subsidized healthcare via Medicare and Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
  • You may also get a few social security payments (subject to waiting periods)
  • You can apply for Australian Citizenship after due time as per the residency eligibility criteria
  • You can sponsor eligible people for permanent residence.
