Australia Recorded tremendous growth in the Net Overseas Migration

As per the latest reports, Australia has recorded tremendous growth in its in Net Overseas Migration (NOM) in the last 4 years. Australia is already known as one of the best destinations in the world for the immigrants and recent reports from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) are certainly confirming the same. However, despite the positive growth NOM, it is still less compared to the highest growth registered in the year 2009, when more than 300,000 individuals got added to the population of Australia.

State wise Growth in Net Overseas Migration (NOM)

Queensland leads the tally for highest growth in the Net Overseas Migration, i.e. about 19 percent higher; Victoria and NSA were not far behind with the up percentage of 13 percent and 11 percent respectively. Tasmania also registered the NOM growth of about nine percent.

Talking about the overall growth in the country by the end of September 2016, a total of 348,700 individuals immigrated to Australia to make it the population of about 24.2 million. In the whole data received, net overseas migration was about 55 percent. The natural growth of Australia added 155,500 people to the country’s population.

Net Overseas Migration (NOM) played a key role in the population change in the states, i.e. SA, NSA, Victoria, etc. On the other end the natural increase was the key contributor in rest of the Australian states and territories.
